UNIT 10: Reflective Report

This Unit had some ups and downs during the entire production. From the very beginning I was having trouble choosing which script I wanted to go for, originally I was going to go with the medication pills ad, however I saw that a few people were doing the same, and I wanted to do something different. I chose to do the Texas Home security ad but I felt like its story could have been better, so I decided to make my own version of the script and instead of it being about a girl coming home multiple times late without the parents noticing to, the daughter comes home after a late night very intoxicated and can’t turn off the alarm system leaving her dad to believe she was and intruder and comically sprays her down with an automatic rifle.

I began doing research into advertisements and their home security products, media that has inspired my style for the project, writing up my own version of the script, costumes and props I would need etc, however due to me over booking myself with other projects such as a boxing event I was filming and editing, other college projects that had to be completed and Hannah being unavailable to act in the piece due to her working, I decided to not go with my version of the script and go with the original, and instead of the main character being a female, I would act as the main character and instead of it being a father it would be Hannah playing a wife.

All in all I am happy with how everything turned out, even though I could not make the piece I originally planned and even finish the video due to the COVID - 19 outbreak, I am still happy with how it turned out and it works as a finished piece in its currents stage. The main thing I have taken from this project is time management and not over booking myself with too many projects that are not really that important.
